SmoothWizard 2.1 is not a normal patch. It is a new desktop client: the move from WPF to WinUI 3, plus a rewritten backend built for speed. New UI engine, faster server stack – same SmoothWizard for optimizations, account, Pay, PRO, games, and apps.

What changes for you
After the update you get the new client. Pay license, trial, PRO, and your account stay in the same ecosystem. Basic and PRO optimizations, the games and apps catalog, tray, and cockpit run in the new UI shell, and talking to the backend is faster thanks to the rewritten infrastructure.
The old WPF build is no longer the development line. Updates go to WinUI 3.
Why WinUI 3
WPF carried SmoothWizard for years, but Windows App SDK and WinUI 3 give a better foundation: newer window APIs, a clearer UI model, and a simpler path for future screens and motion. This was not a one-click Upgrade Assistant job. We ported the client in layers for the same product.
Rewritten backend
Alongside the client we rebuilt the backend. Server-side code was rewritten for faster responses: license, account, catalogs, and the rest of the app traffic. Less waiting on startup, login, and status refresh.

How to update
Just restart the app. The update downloads and installs on its own. You do not need to grab an installer from the site by hand.
If auto-update does not kick in (rare), close the tray icon too and open SmoothWizard again. Fallback: the Download page.

FAQ
Do I need to buy PRO again?
No. An active license on Pay stays. 2.1 is a new client and a faster backend, not a new store.
Will my WPF settings carry over 1:1?
We aim for continuity of account and license. After restart, check key options (language, tray, optimizations).
Will the old WPF app still get updates?
Development continues on WinUI 3. Restart the app to pull 2.1.
