What and how? - How we recommend setting applications for maximum performance
SmoothWizard has expanded significantly since 2023 and now has a number of more and less advanced features designed to increase gaming performance. On this page, you’ll learn what and how to configure to maximize performance.
SmoothWizard – basic dashboard
The first page is just add-ons that are meant to make using Windows easier and help you with basic optimization options. You’ll find it here:
- Cleaning Temp Files – i.e., deleting temporary files (Cleaning happens automatically in basic optimization)
- Quickly launching Task Manager
- Process Killer – a faster method for killing/disabling processes using PID Killer
- Changing DNS – in short, improving internet performance
- Fixing System Errors – an attempt to fix system errors caused by various poorly performed manual optimizations by third parties or yourself
- System Restore – quick access to System Restore
- Classic Right Click – restoring the right mouse button from Windows 10 and earlier instead of the new Win11 icons
SmoothWizard – Optimization (Basic)
An optimization that should be run even if you have PRO Optimization!
Basic Optimization is optimization of the basics in the system, things like System Services, basic system and registry settings that can be changed in real time, as well as options to choose from:
- Disable Xbox Services – Disables all services related to Xbox games [If you’re not currently playing a game that requires Xbox, you can check this box]
- Disable RAM Compression [Check if you have 16GB of RAM or more] – disables RAM compression
- Change Power Plan [Check this box] – this changes the power plan to High Performance
After setting it up, run AutoStart Optimization and the optimization itself!
SmoothWizard – Optimization PRO
Pro Optimization works so that all options you set here take effect when it detects a full-screen game or one from the list that skips full-screen. They are located here:
- Optimization Testing Option – This option allows us to quickly test our features by adding SmoothWizard to an application that bypasses full screen. After clicking on the application with the test enabled, our system will be optimized and we will be able to see what’s happening.
- Disable System Interface and Minimize Mask – This option allows us to disable the system interface on the Taskbar during gameplay and instead (optionally) show a simple mask with the app logo.
- CPU Core Control – This option allows us to use Real-Time Processor Affinity.
- Delay Loading of Full Screen Optimization – This option is for older computers and extends the detection timer.
- Additional Pause Process List – This list of processes that will be paused during gameplay will use 0% CPU, 0% GPU, and 0% RAM, but will return to normal after exiting the game.
- Process Optimization Process List No Fullscreen – Skips window size detection and responds only to the active game window.
- Custom list to exclude games or applications from optimization – a list where you can add applications and games that should not be optimized.
- Emergency button – works similarly to the mask button, but instead of forcing fullscreen optimization, it disables the entire PRO.
Speaking of pro optimization, there are a lot of things you can configure here. This allows you to tailor these options to your specific computer. I think it’s easier to break it down into a few categories and PC types.
Additional list of processes to pause
List of processes that will be stopped (pause not disabled!) and freed from RAM. In short, if you have apps that you don’t need while playing, add them to the list. For example, browser, updater apps, Discord (if you’re not chatting). These processes will be on pause and won’t consume resources that will be available to the game, and they will function normally after exiting or minimizing the game.

I think this knowledge of the PRO options will be enough for you, as it will allow you to adjust it for maximum FPS! However, remember that you can always play around with the settings yourself and find the one that suits your needs. If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up on Discord!
SmoothWizard – Games and Applications Optimization
Customized Optimization for Selected Games.
Optimizations are customized for each game, and there’s no single one that’s unique. These include personalized configs, mod packs, plugins, and other options. See for yourself what we can find for your game.
A very extensive tab, but also very intuitive 🫡 You’ll find your way around here, and don’t worry if your game isn’t listed. Pro and Basic optimization will do the trick anyway. However, if you’d like our team to prepare a package for your game and integrate it into the app, simply add it to the “Suggest a new game” list. You can also add apps there, or you can boost games there, like on Reddit, with an arrow, so we know what’s most important to you!
SmoothWizard – System Optimization
Windows 11 / 10 System Optimization
Full and safe Windows system optimization, tailored to the needs of applications. Optimization tailored to maximize performance without sacrificing security. Contrary to what custom Windows systems do, this optimization will never compromise your security; in fact, it will ensure that you can use your system safely and securely.
Here you just click this green button 😅 It’s seriously easy. Unlike custom Windows, this built-in optimization has been improved many times based on your requests to make it as safe and fast as possible. It was originally based on Debloat Win 10 by W4RH4WK, which inspired us to develop the scripts for this system optimization, but now the whole thing has been rebuilt from scratch in a better way just to take care of every detail and every option in your system. And don’t be fooled into installing a custom OS, because there you’ll only get an Event Log spammed with errors, and seriously, I haven’t met a system that doesn’t do that yet. And such errors in the system then cause stuttering in games… Although there’s nothing like a good lightweight system on an old PC 😅 But on super weak machines, the only thing left is Linux to really squeeze the last juice out of it 🔥
