How to run Valorant on a laptop without a magic booster
On a laptop Valorant usually dies from battery limits, the iGPU, and overlays - not from a missing booster. Play plugged in, set VALORANT.exe to High performance in Windows Graphics, Reflex On (skip + Boost if it cooks). SmoothWizard power plan is Basic. Pausing processes on fullscreen is PRO.
Same levers as CS2 on a laptop. No invented FPS numbers.
- 1
Play plugged in
On battery, Windows drops CPU and GPU clocks. Valorant belongs on the charger. Battery Saver off.
- 2
Force the dGPU
Settings > System > Display > Graphics: VALORANT.exe / Riot Client to High performance (discrete GPU). If the game runs on iGPU, in-game sliders will not save you.
- 3
Reflex and heat
NVIDIA Reflex: On. On + Boost on a thin laptop often just adds heat. A stand and a clear vent beat another tweaker.
- 4
Details and overlays
Drop Material / Detail before textures if VRAM is 4-6 GB. Overlays off. Cap FPS to the panel Hz.
- 5
SmoothWizard
Basic: power plan. PRO / 7-day trial: pause processes on fullscreen. Do not run two boosters at once.

Is PRO worth it on a laptop?
If power, dGPU, and overlays are already sane - yes. Process pause is PRO, not Free.
Riot Client on the dGPU too?
Yes. Set both in Windows Graphics. Otherwise the launcher keeps iGPU and the game gets lost.
The laptop cooks after 15 minutes.
Throttling is physics. Software can quiet the background and the power plan. It cannot replace paste and airflow.
