Valorant FPS: PRO config, Legacy Flip, skip LOD Bias

Updated 2026-09-18 00:50

ValorantStutter

In Valorant start with Basic: Change Power Plan, Turn off memory compression, and Fullscreen flip mode (FSO) set to Legacy. Config from Optimize Games is PRO: you pick the account folder, and the app keeps crosshair and resolution. LOD Bias in the NVIDIA panel does not change this title. PRO process pause fires on a monitor-covering window or the Non-fullscreen game detection list.

September 2026. Same order as the video: Basic for free, game config on PRO, then deathmatch. Overlay numbers are that PC, not yours.

Why it stutters

Valorant stores settings in LocalAppData\VALORANT\Saved\Config, under an account ID folder. Optimize Games swaps files with a backup and copies crosshair and resolution from the old file. A manual zip overwrite drops those. LOD Bias that strips detail in other games never hits this engine. Fullscreen flip mode (FSO) on Legacy turns Windows FSO off. Leave Change Power Plan on for Intel. On AMD, test both.

Key points

  1. Basic: Change Power Plan, Turn off memory compression, Fullscreen flip mode (FSO) on Legacy.
  2. Valorant config is PRO, in Optimize Games. Pick the folder where the file exists.
  3. Skip LOD Bias. Valorant is mostly CPU bound.
  4. PRO process pause: window covers the monitor, or the Non-fullscreen game detection list.
  1. 1

Run Basic before you touch config

The Basic optimize tab is Free. Check Change Power Plan on Intel. On AMD, test on and off. Check Turn off memory compression. Set Fullscreen flip mode (FSO) to Legacy. Then run optimize. Manual RAM clean is PRO, not this page.

  1. 2

Valorant config lives in Optimize Games

Optimize Games is PRO. The trial is 7 days. Find Valorant on the list or in recently updated configs. Click optimize and pick the folder where the app sees the file. With several Riot accounts you pick the ID folder. The app writes a backup and keeps crosshair and resolution.

  2. 3

    Check where the config lives

LocalAppData\VALORANT\Saved\Config, then the account ID folder and WindowsClient. A manual GameUserSettings replace overwrites the crosshair. That is why the video prefers the app over a zip. Shader cache is cleaned from the tray, not from this folder.

  3. 4

In the NVIDIA panel, skip LOD Bias

Valorant profile: LOD Bias does nothing here. A CS2 preset does not strip detail. Other NVIDIA options, including DLSS, stay as your test, not as someone else's FPS quote.

  4. 5

    Process priority stays in PRO

Game process priority in the catalog is PRO. In the video, AboveNormal is the stable pick. Do not hunt a separate fixer next to the exe. The app does not click Video in Valorant.

  5. 6

Process pause does not need Display Mode Fullscreen

Process pause is PRO. The session starts when the window covers the monitor, or when VALORANT-Win64-Shipping is on the Non-fullscreen game detection list. Change Power Plan in Basic does not depend on window mode.

  6. 7

After the changes, go into deathmatch

Ranked from the first round tells you nothing. Deathmatch shows whether the frame holds. Overlay FPS in the video is not your result.

  7. 8

Do not load a zip instead of the app

The official path is SmoothWizard and the game catalog. A zip from the internet overwrites crosshair and resolution. The app writes a backup and copies those lines from the old file.

Notes

In-app labels stay as in the UI: Optimize Games, Turn off memory compression, Fullscreen flip mode (FSO), Legacy. FPS from the video is not your PC.

FAQ

Click a question to show the answer. The first one is open.

Is Valorant config in Free?

No. Optimize Games and catalog config are PRO. Basic stays: Change Power Plan, memory compression, Flip Legacy. The PRO trial is 7 days.

Does LOD Bias work in Valorant?

No. In the video, even if it applied, the gain would be small, because Valorant is CPU bound. Skip LOD Bias.

Why not replace files from a zip?

A manual replace overwrites crosshair and resolution. Optimize Games copies those lines from the old file and writes a backup.

Intel or AMD for the power plan?

On Intel, the video leaves Change Power Plan on. On AMD you test both, because it helps on one chip and hurts on another. The power plan is Basic.

Does SmoothWizard need fullscreen?

No. PRO checks whether the active window covers the monitor, or whether the process is on the Non-fullscreen game detection list. Process pause is PRO.

Are the overlay FPS in the video mine?

No. That is a reading on the recording PC. Your test is deathmatch after Basic and config, not the thumbnail number.
