Fortnite hitching? Turn on Performance Mode before another booster
The biggest Fortnite FPS lever is Rendering Mode = Performance under Settings > Video (Epic: lower fidelity, more frames). Apply and restart. Then overlays off and High Resolution Textures unchecked in the Epic launcher if VRAM is tight. SmoothWizard power plan is Basic. Pausing processes on fullscreen is PRO.
This is an engine switch, not another Windows tweaker. No promised frame count.

Rendering Mode = Performance
In Fortnite: player icon > Settings > Video. Display: Rendering Mode > Performance. Apply. Restart Fortnite. That is Epic's own help path.
- 2
HD textures in the launcher
Epic Games Launcher > Library > Fortnite > three dots > Options. Uncheck High Resolution Textures if VRAM or disk is tight. Apply.
- 3
Shadows and overlays
Shadows and post-processing low. Discord, NVIDIA, and Game Bar off. Fullscreen, V-Sync off.

Cache after the switch
After changing renderer the GPU rebuilds shaders. Play one Creative / bot session before ranked. SmoothWizard cache: tray.

SmoothWizard
Basic: power plan. PRO: pause processes on fullscreen. Do not run two boosters at once.

Does Performance ruin visuals?
Fidelity drops. That is the trade. Competitive already lives here. Switch back when you want a cinematic session.
Do I reinstall?
No. Restart after Rendering Mode. HD textures are a separate launcher option.
What does SmoothWizard do here?
It does not flip Performance Mode for you - that is Epic's menu. The app: shader cache, power plan, process pause in PRO.
